-Obedience-

Hey guys! Long time no type.. I wanted to write this post just to chat with my girlies (and boys if you like reading these) about obedience real quick.

Let me tell you, one of the scariest things about being a Christian is being obedient to God’s calling. I have to be honest with you, one thing I’m absolutely terrified of is saying yes to God but not because of what you think. One major thing about being obedient to God is how do you know it’s God telling you it’s time to do what He’s asking you to do? Recently, I was asked by God to do something I never would have thought I had to do. I was set on how my life was. I was ready and happy to stay there. I was very satisfied. But God knew what I wanted was not what I needed. Trust me, the day I realized I had to make one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, He was faithful in many ways. I knew it was from Him, not only because the situation was way too much of a coincidence, but because I felt this overwhelming feeling of peace in my heart that this was the right decision. When God is telling you to do something, trust me, you will know. It’s not something you’ll be confused about. The only reason you’ll be confused is that you’re scared of doing what He’s asking you to do. I get it, I know what He might be asking for seems impossible or too difficult and scary, but I’m telling you right now, God is only calling you to do it because He knows you’re ready for it. The peace you feel from being obedient to God is an overwhelmingly beautiful thing.

Sir, yes Sir!

Being obedient to God’s calling is something we Christians are called to do. We are called to follow His word and to be ready to be deployed to your next battlefield. Do you think military people say, “you know, sergeant, I’m not sure if that’s right. I wouldn’t survive over there.” No silly! They look at their sergeant and say, “sir, yes sir!” We are God’s army, how will we ever fight for Him and do His work in the world if we’re not obedient to His calling? But you see, being a part of God’s army is different, it’s so much better. Because, when we’re obedient to His calling He blesses us. I was recently told, by a friend, that when God deploys you, He never leaves you empty-handed. What God has for you, is even greater than what you had. Although what you had might have been perfect and great and you think it couldn’t get any better, IT CAN!

When you let God use you and you are obedient to His calling, trust me, you’ll NEVER regret it. However, not everyone will understand, and sometimes not everyone will agree or think it’s right to take the leap. If God is calling you, the enemy will try to stop it in every way possible. He will use anyone and everything around you to make you doubt God’s calling before and after you follow it. Don’t give in to the pressure and let go and let God!!

What does the bible say about obedience?

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”

But this command I gave them: ‘Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. And walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’

Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
